The recall was initiated because routine testing on the capsules returned positive for gluten. The raw material used to create the capsules was then tested and also found to contain gluten.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the consumption of these capsules by someone with a gluten intolerance could lead to an “upset stomach, diarrhea, fatigue, skin reactions, and more.” Fortunately, so far there have been no reported illnesses related to this recall.

In addition to the recall, the Natural Organics Inc. has asked that the recalled capsules be removed from store shelves. If you purchased any of these recalled capsules, they can be returned to the place of purchase for a refund.
