Sucralose Found in Drinking Water Supply of More than 28 Million Americans

Studies have linked artificial sweeteners such aspartame (Equal), saccharin (Sweet’N Low), and sucralose (Splenda) to medical issues with “male fertility, red blood cell count, kidney health, gut flora balance, and body weight…” And the concerns have not fallen on deaf ears, as many Americans today are making a concerted effort to limit or avoid artificial sweeteners altogether. But a recent analysis of drinking water plants serving more than 28 million Americans found traces of sucralose in the finished product. The reason is that when we ingest it, and excrete it, neither our bodies nor water treatment plants are able to break down the harmful chemical.
