Dogs/pets that ingest food with elevated levels of Vitamin D may exhibit symptoms such as: vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, and weight loss. The prolonged consumption and high level consumption of Vitamin D could even lead to renal failure. If your dog has consumed these recalled foods, and is showing any adverse reaction, you should contact your veterinarian immediately.
Fromm initiated the recall on their own accord after their own analysis. They believe the error has been isolated, and their “corrective actions” are aimed at preventing a recurrence. As we outlined above, the foods have a shelf life of almost 3 years (August 2024). If you purchase them you should throw them away or return them to your retailer for a refund.
