
Salmonella risk leads to McCormick Italian Seasoning and Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Ranch Seasoning reca
Four of America’s favorite seasonings from McCormick and Frank’s RedHot are being recalled due to salmonella concerns. The voluntary recall was initiated after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found salmonella contamination after conducting some routine tests.

A healthy adult contracting salmonella often isn’t of great concern. Typically leading to no more than a small fever, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. However, the young, pregnant, elderly, and those with weakened immune systems are at greater risk. According to the FDA, salmonella could potentially result in “arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.”
The recalled products were shipped across America, as well as Bermuda and Canada between June 20, 2021 and July 21, 2021.In the United States, the seasonings were shipped to retailers in more than 30 states. If you’ve purchased any of the recalled products, you should return them to your retailer for a refund, or discard them. McCormick has already alerted retailers to remove the products from their shelves.
