Pet food manufacturer Sunshine Mills recalls 8 varieties of dog food due to elevated aflatoxin level
Sunshine Mills, Inc. produces a variety of dog foods. Now, 8 of those branded dog foods are being recalled due to “potentially elevated levels of Aflatoxin”. While aflatoxin is naturally occurring, pets consuming elevated levels of it could be dangerous. So far no illnesses have been reported.

If you believe your pet has consumed any of these foods you may want to contact their veterinarian. Symptoms of the ingestion of elevated levels of aflatoxin are: sluggishness or lethargy combined with a reluctance to eat, vomiting, yellowish tint to the eyes or gums, or diarrhea.
No other products produced by Sunshine Mills have been recalled at this time. The recalled foods were distributed nationwide, and retailers have been notified so they can pull these items from their shelves. These items should be returned to your local retailer for a refund or discarded.
