Edamame sold at Trader Joe’s recalled over listeria concerns

Trader Joe’s Lightly Salted Edamame sold in stores in Arizona, Southern California, Southern Nevada, and Utah has been recalled because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Recalled Products:

Trader Joe’s Lightly Salted Edamame

16 ounce plastic package

Lot Numbers - 22LA102 M, 22LA102 N, 22LA102 P

Listeria often isn’t of great concern for the young and healthy, usually resulting in no more than headaches, nausea, and abdominal pain. For children, the elderly, those with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women though, contracting listeria can be of grave concern. In pregnant women especially as it can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.

The recalled products have been removed from store shelves, and destroyed. Destroying the recalled product will ensure that it’s not accidentally distributed to any additional consumers. If you’ve purchased the recalled edamame, you should throw it out or return it to Trader Joe’s for a refund.
