Undeclared peanuts leads to Turkey Hill Chocolate Marshmallow Premium Ice Cream recall

Turkey Hill Dairy has issued a voluntary recall of a select number of their 48 oz. containers of Chocolate Marshmallow Premium Ice Cream due to undeclared nut allergens. Based out of Conestoga, Pennsylvania, Turkey Hill is the 4th largest premium ice cream brand in the United States.

The recall was issued after a customer found that some containers of Chocolate Marshmallow Premium Ice Cream may have been accidentally filled with Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream, an ice cream that contains nuts. The recall is only for containers with UPC 020735420935. No other Turkey Hill products are being recalled at this time.

Consumers with a nut allergy can experience an allergic reaction from consuming the undeclared cashews and almond butter. Those with severe nut allergies are at even greater risk. So far, neither Turkey Hill nor the FDA have received any reports of consumer illnesses related to this recall.
