The information needed to determine if it’s your cat’s food that’s been recalled is located on the bottom of the can. Your favorite feline’s ingestion of elevated levels of choline chloride could lead to some of the following symptoms: nausea with excessive salivation, constricted pupils and poor vision, diarrhea or vomiting to more severe symptoms including difficulty walking, muscle shaking, tremors, irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, possible cardiac or respiratory failure and, in extreme situations, death.

If you purchased the recalled cat food, you should dispose of it immediately or return it to your retailer for a refund. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, so far no “adverse reactions” have been reported. Pet owners that believe their furry friend may have ingested the recalled food are urged to contact their veterinarian.
