Dole Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kit recalled due to undeclared allergens

A couple weeks ago, Dole Endless Summer Salad Kits were recalled. And with today’s news, it appears Dole's recalls are becoming...endless. Sorry, we couldn’t resist. Today, Dole and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a recall of their Dole Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kit due to undeclared allergens, wheat and tree nuts.

Recalled Products:

Dole Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kit

UPC #0-71430-00034-2

Best if Used By 02-11-2021

Lot Codes W02702A and W02702B

The recall of Dole Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kit was initiated after Dole learned that the dressing and topping kit for another salad was accidentally used during “a portion of the production” according to the FDA. Consuming undeclared allergens, even in small quantities can be extremely dangerous. Fortunately, so far no illnesses or injuries have been reported.

The salad kits were shipped to retailers in Ohio, New York, and Wisconsin. Based on the Best if Used By date of February 11, 2021, it’s possible the salad is still in your refrigerator. If so, please discard it or return it to your retailer for a refund. Only the Dole Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kits with the aforementioned Lot Codes (W02702A and W02702B) have been recalled.
