Ragu recalled over plastic contamination concerns

If you plan on making any of momma’s favorite Italian recipes this weekend, you're going to want to steer clear of using Ragu, as some Ragu Pasta sauces have been recalled due to a possible plastics contamination. Although, let’s be honest, you shouldn’t be using store bought sauce for momma’s homemade recipes anyway.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall of the following 5 varieties of Ragu Pasta sauce:

Ragu Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 45 oz.

Cap code: JUN0620YU2

Best Use By Date: JUN0620YU2

Ragu Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 66 oz.

Cap code: JUN0520YU2

Best Use by Date: JUN0520YU2

Ragu Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 66 oz.

Cap code: JUN0620YU2

Best Use By Date: JUN0620YU2

Ragu Old World Style Traditional, 66 oz.

Ragu Old World Style Meat, 66 oz.

To determine if your Ragu Pasta sauce is one of those recalled, you can view the code on the yellow lid. The “best use by” date is also a good identifier. As of the time of this story, the FDA says no complaints have been made by consumers, nor have any been injured. If you have questions regarding the recall, Ragu sauces can be reached by phone at 1-800-328-7248.
