Nopalina Flax Seed Powder and Capsules recalled over salmonella concerns

If you’re a user of Nopalina Flax Seed Powder or Nopalina Flax Seed Capsules, the latest U.S. Food and Drug Administration recall is of special importance. The FDA and Nopalina have recalled both of these products, covering nearly a dozen different lots, over salmonella concerns.

Salud Natural Entrepreneur, Inc. has issued the recall voluntarily. So what triggered the recall? According to the FDA and Salud Natural Entrepreneur, the recall is “due to possible Salmonella contamination in one of the ingredients used on the formula of Nopalina Flax Seed Fiber.” In the FDA’s senna leaves powder testing, the ingredient used to make the powder and capsules, they tested positive for three types of Salmonella: Salmonella Gaminara, Salmonella Kentucky, and Salmonella Oranienburg. The company has since ceased use of said ingredient.
