Entenmann’s cookies recalled over “blue plastic contamination”

When packing lunches for the littles ones this week, make sure you’re not putting in a package of Entenmann’s Little Bites Soft Baked Cookies. Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc. and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have issued a recall of the tiny tasty treats. The recall comes after customers complained of finding “blue plastic pieces” in their packages, though the plastic doesn’t appear to have been baked into the cookies.

Bimbo Bakeries is recalling all packages of Entenmann’s 5-pack Mini Chocolate Chip varieties. Before being recalled, the cookies were sold in all but 13 states, including Washington DC. The UPC code of the contaminated cookies is 7203002378, and can be located on the “lower right hand corner of the box”. As of the time of this story, no other Entenmann’s products are believed to be tainted.

Consumers that purchased the recalled cookies should not eat them, instead they can be returned to the store they were purchased from for a full refund. Consumers with questions are urged to contact Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc. at 1-800-984-0989.
